Ever wonder how others perceive you? Others may see me as a wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. What would I consider myself? Well, definitely all of the above, but I would add that I am a thinker, a writer, and a woman who has a lot to say. I just want my voice to be heard. This is my spot to state what I think and believe. These are My Thoughts from my Window on the River.

May Day Remembered

May Day!

How many of you from my generation remember the excitement May Day brought. We would make our May baskets out of colored construction paper. We would fill them with popcorn or candy or both to drop at our friends front door. Knock and run! To be caught or not?

I'm not sure children even do that today? Do they?

Normally there would be violets growing in the yard. They would decorate the basket as well. There would be a bouquet of violets for Mom and Grandma clutched in our hands.

Days of innocents.

Charles Mashburn releases a new Novella JULI

I’m pleased to announce the release of a new novella,  JULI by Charles Mashburn.  You may recognize Charles as the author of the poem “Pennies from Heaven.”  Charles also writes an inspirational blog titled “Marbles in My Pocket.”  He has penned many  other novels and devotional  books.  You can check out his other writings at http://charleslmashburn.com/charlies-blog_269.html

Charles new novel JULI is now available in paperback at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/River-Between-Volume-Charles-Mashburn/dp/1496032683/ref=pd_rhf_cr_p_dnr_1

JULI is a  fictional tale that tells about Charlie who lives in his own private paradise, where He writes and often entertains unexpected guests. A river runs through his property, and God lives on the other side. Charlie has learned the secret to crossing the river, and though He’s not the guide, his secluded home is a gateway of sorts. When his guests come calling—or heeding the call, should we say—he simply shows them the path and lets Jesus do the rest. We live in a confusing time—a time when the river raging between man and God seems to be widening with every passing day. He’s still there, waiting for us to join Him and live a life filled with His peace and joy, and He’s provided a way to cross the river between us and Him—Put your hand in the hand of the One who stills the water. Juli is the first in a series of folks who will visit Charlie and find their way across the river between. We hope you’ll come along.

I believe this book will be another opportunity to be uplifted by Charles Mashurn writings. Please take time to check out JULI.

Up Coming Events

Another cold and waiting for snow Saturday. Tired of the color gray, but I know that is a comment coming from everyone. Thought it might be a good day to add a few comments to my blog. Also to announce the book signing events that will be happening in the next few months.

If you have been to my website and tried to leave a message some time since the 20th of January, please try again. During an update to the site the wrong e-mail address was inadvertently entered as the contact information. It has since been corrected and PLEASE retry sending your message. It also was incorrect if you tried to purchase a book. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Since our ill fated vacation to South Carolina, no offense. I've been working a establishing several book signing events. Along with the help of my Uncle David and Aunt Arleen.
